this digital collage incorporates drawings made in the 19th and early 20th century. it features a portrait created by German artist Winold Reiss entitled "a woman from the virgin islands" over the bacground of a sketch of the german castle that has been compared to versaille called san souci.

this digital collage features the imprint of the vagina of Saartjie (Sarah) Bartman, a south african woman who was brought to europe and put on display for her large posterior in the early 1800s. most of her remains were returned to her homeland in 2002 after being kept in the musee de lhomme after her death. her vagina was preserved separately and was "misplaced" over the years at the museum. it has yet to be found.
